Grifco has been in the New Zealand market for over 25 years, and its name has become synonymous with commercial and industrial garage door applications within the Kiwi Market.

But a lot has changed in 25 years! We’ve grown as a company and with our customers, and we’re excited to see what the future of Grifco holds here in NZ.

Here are three things you might not know about Grifco in New Zealand.

Technology that’s got your back

Grifco recently implemented myQ technology into our range of E-Drive motors. myQ technology allows businesses to use their smart phone via the myQ App to control their commercial doors.  Customers can remotely control their door from wherever they might be.

Rodger Bowring, Country Manager at Chamberlain Group, New Zealand says customers who use myQ technology are thrilled with the benefits and simplicity of this new feature.

“The myQ App control sends real-time alerts when a door is activated or left open and managers can also grant access to specific doors at specific times, always knowing exactly when and how their properties have been accessed,” says Rodger.

myQ makes it easier for businesses to have peace of mind that their facilities are secure.

Grifco isn’t just for commercial warehouses and factories

With The Chamberlain Group a household name across New Zealand, many homeowners will choose Merlin for their home and Grifco for their commercial spaces.

Commercial warehouses and factories are a huge part of Grifco’s business, and the brand has gained a reputation for our rigorous approach to compliance with New Zealand safety standards.

“Electrical safety and conformity are very important to us. We do extensive compliance testing to ensure that our motors are not only safe but perform in the toughest of environments. This helps to provide certainty and surety within a very compliance driven industry,” says Rodger.

Rodger says our business is from Kaitaia to Bluff and everything in between. Our customers know that when a Grifco is fitted they can be sure of a reliable, and durable commercial motor and gearbox that will perform and stand the test of time.

“We’re seeing a broader variety of applications from homeowners with heavy architecturally designed doors that require unique automation, building owners looking for commercial automation in their facilities, to large industrial manufacturers as well as architects and specifiers,” says Rodger.

“Architects and specifiers will often choose Grifco for their higher-end residential properties that have unique garage or shed doors, so it’s great to see how Grifco can also support residential properties,” continues Rodger.

Rodger’s clients agree, with Chris from Apex Industrial Roller Door Specialists commenting on its durability and convenient application for his clients.

“I’ve had been in this industry since 1979 and used Grifco for the last 17 years, so when I started my own business, it was a no brainer to use Grifco as our supplier. We have found it to be strong and reliable, and now with myQ it offers so much more to the customer,” says Chris.
